The department catalogs, classifies and analyzes the subject content of the library's newly acquired information resources according to national standards and adds new bibliographic records to the online catalog. The department also makes every effort to improve the quality of the catalog by routinely performing database maintenance. In addition to cataloging, the department is also responsible for the physical processing of all monographic materials, repair of worn or damaged materials, handling of miscellaneous tasks (such as reprocessing, transfer, and withdrawal), and answering cataloging related questions from other library departments.
